About Us
We’re a family-owned beekeeping business based in Beerwah, Queensland. We produce raw honey, bee pollen, honeycomb, beeswax, candles and handcrafted gift jars, supplied directly from our hives in Beerwah, Woombye, and Rosemount — straight from the beekeeper to you. No middleman, no blending.
Our bees forage across the Sunshine Coast hinterland, producing raw, cold-extracted honey that reflects the season and landscape. Every jar is a little different — and that’s the point.
We’re proud to be part of the local community. We supply cafés, retailers, and businesses with bulk and wholesale quantities. If you’re looking for a reliable local honey supplier, we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAW HONEY AND SUPERMARKET HONEY?
Most supermarket honey in Australia is heat-treated (40–70°C) and finely filtered for a clear, uniform look and longer shelf life. This removes pollen and reduces natural enzymes and antioxidants. Much of it is also blended or imported, often with minimal labelling.
Raw honey like ours is simply extracted, lightly strained to remove wax, and bottled — never heated beyond hive temperature (around 35°C). It retains its natural enzymes, pollen, and full floral flavour.
It may appear cloudier and will naturally crystallise over time — both signs of a minimally processed product.
DOES RAW HONEY CRYSTALLISE? IS THAT NORMAL?
Yes - and it’s completely natural, not a sign of spoilage.
Honey contains glucose and fructose, and glucose naturally crystallises over time. The rate depends on the floral source — some honeys set quickly, others stay liquid longer.
Our Sunshine Coast honey typically crystallises gradually. To return it to liquid, place the sealed jar in warm water (below 40°C) and let it soften gently. Avoid boiling water or microwaving, as high heat damages the natural enzymes.
HOW SHOULD I STORE RAW HONEY?
Store at room temperature, sealed, and out of direct sunlight.
Honey is naturally shelf-stable due to its low moisture, acidity, and antibacterial properties. Refrigeration isn’t recommended, as it speeds up crystallisation and makes the honey firm. Keep the lid sealed to prevent moisture absorption.
If however you’re dealing with ants, storing honey in the fridge is a simple solution. If you use it regularly (within a few weeks), this won’t noticeably affect quality - it may just firm up slightly.
A pantry between 18–24°C is ideal. Stored correctly, raw honey has an extremely long shelf life.
WHAT FLOWERS DO SUNSHINE COAST BEES FORAGE FROM?
The Beerwah, Woombye, and Rosemount area sits in a biodiverse part of the Sunshine Coast hinterland near the Glass House Mountains. Our bees forage within a 3–5 km radius of each hive, following seasonal blooms.
Common sources include native eucalypts (ironbark, grey gum, bloodwood), brush box, tea tree, bottlebrush, banksia, grevillea, macadamia blossom, and seasonal wildflowers.
Because of this changing mix, our honey varies naturally in colour and flavour — lighter and more floral in spring, richer and deeper through the year.
